Iberia now operates 10 weekly flights from Miami to Spain: apart from this new Miami- Barcelona route, it flies daily from Miami to Madrid. These new routes, together with the overall capacity increase on its flights from Boston, Chicago and New York to the Spanish capital will consolidate the United States as Iberia's most important long-haul market.

Beginning April 5th, American launches service from JFK to Budapest and on May 1st, it begins a new flight from Chicago to Helsinki. Also, British Airways will begin service from San Diego to London on June 1st. For more information, please visit http://grupo.iberia.es.

Guaranteed Parking lots at Minneapolis airport
With more than 22,000 parking spaces, there is virtually always a place to park at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. However, during busy travel times, particularly mid-week, travelers haven’t always been able to find space available at the terminal of their choice – until now.
The MSP Airports has launched a new program that guarantees its members an open parking lots at the MSP terminal of their choice, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, no matter how busy the airport is.
Members pay $95 per month, a one-time $20 activation fee, and the regular hourly and daily Terminal-1 Lindbergh e-Park rate for the time they are parked in an airport ramp. Charges are automatically billed to the member’s account. Members can check their account and print a receipt online.
“eParkElite is geared toward busy frequent travelers who place a premium on time-saving and convenience,” said Jeff Hamiel, executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates MSP International Airport. “By becoming an eParkElite member, you gain assurance you will always find a spot available at the terminal your flight departs.”
Members of eParkElite receive a small transmitter to place on the dashboard of their vehicle. When they approach the designated parking area at either terminal, the parking ramp gate arm raises automatically, marking the time they entered the parking facility and providing access to waiting parking spaces. Parking capacity is managed to ensure there are always sufficient spaces for eParkElite members at both terminals. The transmitter automatically raises the gate at exit and marks the time they left for electronic billing purposes.
An added benefit is that, if members so choose, they may share their eParkElite transmitter with others on days they aren’t using it. For many companies, that means multiple employees can benefit from a single eParkElite membership provided only one person is traveling at a time.
People interested in becoming an eParkElite member can find additional information as well as an application on MSP’s web site, www.mspairport.com, or by calling 612-726-5650 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The transmitter automatically raises the gate at exit and marks the time they left for electronic billing purposes.

msp airport mobile app for iPhone Android devices
MSP’s new mobile application, goHow Airport, is available for free download onto iPhone and BlackBerry devices.the app is scheduled to be available for Android devices as well.
“These new technologies enable us to personalize each traveler’s airport experience by presenting information in ways relevant to that person’s individual interests and needs,” said Jeff Hamiel, executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission.
“The mobile app and touch-screen directories map the way to your gate, show what shops, restaurants and services are in the vicinity, tell you how many minutes away each location is, and offer search or filter functions so you can find food items, merchandise or services of particular interest to you,” Hamiel said. “Our goal is to provide one of the best airport experiences in the nation by placing the travel information you need right at your fingertips.”
Both devices include:
• Information on airport shops, restaurants, services and other amenities
• Flight information
• Hotel and ground transportation options
• Menus for MSP’s full-service restaurants
• Airport maps and walk times to chosen points of interest
• Airport news, deals and events
• Weather information
• Airline information for scheduling or rebooking a flight
• Search or filtering features
The goHow Airport mobile app even allows travelers to rate airport shops, restaurants and services – and to see how others have rated them. Unlike other travel apps, goHow Airport’s data about Minneapolis-St. Paul International – including real-time parking information -- is provided and managed directly by the Metropolitan Airports Commission, helping ensure it is the most accurate and up-to-date available.
goHow Airport offers information on dozens of other airports around the world as well. Using this one application, travelers can plan their travels from their originating airport, through their connecting airport, and on to their destination. Through the device, you can get travel alerts regarding changes in your flight or gate as well as regarding circumstances at the airport that could impact your trip.
MSP’s goHow Airport feature is available through an agreement between the Metropolitan Airports Commission and Simat, Helliesen & Eichner, Inc. (SH&E), a leading aviation consulting firm with locations in Boston, Chicago, New York City and London. SH&E has partnered with Boston-based SapientNitro, an interactive marketing, creative design and technology services agency, to create the goHow Airport mobile app.
The airport’s new interactive kiosks were developed with the services of Alive Promo, a Minneapolis-based company focusing on digital signage solutions.
new Digital Concierge program features two four-sided digital touch screen directories located at either end of the MSP airport mall in Terminal 1-Lindbergh. The program can be expanded in the future to provide additional interactive directories in other areas of the airport.

Airlines move to new Al Maktoum airport
Dubai Airports is in talks with cargo airlines to relocate to the new Al Maktoum International Airport, which will be able to handle 250,000 tonnes of cargo when it begins operations in late June.
Cargo operations will be the first to start operating from the new $33 billion (Dh121 billion) Dubai World Central project that comprises the airport and the Logistics City where some companies are already based.
Dubai Airports said it would offer subsidised rates and financial incentives to attract cargo and passenger airlines to Maktoum International Airport. "To encourage people to go there you have to give them a real reason to move," said Dubai Airports chief executive Paul Griffiths yesterday at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
Passenger services are expected to begin once the passenger terminal buildings are finished — scheduled for the end of the year.
Griffiths said the airport would be able to handle five million passengers annually in its first phase, but the beginning would not be a "bang opening". He said airlines would see a "gradual migration" and the existing airport's largest airline, Dubai's Emirates, would not move for the next 10-15 years.
Meanwhile, to maximise the capacity of the existing airport, the company is building a new concourse that will be ready by the end of next year.
Concourse 3 will be linked to Terminal 3 via a railway that is already in place, Griffiths said.
The airport's third concourse will be completed before the "gradual migration" of airlines to the new airport.
Dubai Airports said freight volume is expected to surge 48 per cent to more than 3 million tonnes by 2015.

Continental 757 BusinessFirst Offers Flat-bed Seats
United Continental Holdings today announced that all Continental flights operated with Boeing 757-200 aircraft now feature new flat-bed seats in BusinessFirst, marking the second major milestone in the installation of 180-degree flat-bed seats throughout Continental's international fleet. Continental completed the retrofit on its 22 Boeing 777s in December 2010.
Continental operates 41 Boeing 757-200 aircraft, flying principally between its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Europe. Amsterdam, Barcelona*, Belfast, Berlin, Birmingham, Bristol, Copenhagen, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hamburg, Lima, Lisbon, London-Heathrow, Madrid, Manchester, Oslo, Paris CDG, Shannon, Stockholm and Stuttgart.
Additionally, the tenth United Boeing 777 to be outfitted with flat-bed seats in both United First and United Business is scheduled to enter service in April. United completed the retrofit of its Boeing 747-400 and international 767-300 aircraft with flat-bed seats in business class cabins in 2009.
"With reconfigurations completed on 116 aircraft, United and Continental together offer more flat-bed premium cabin seats than any other U.S. airline," said United Senior Vice President of Marketing Mark Bergsrud. "The flat-bed seats and advanced audio/video on-demand offer our customers an unmatched onboard experience."
On retrofitted aircraft, United and Continental offer business class customers flat-bed seats that recline 180 degrees, along with power ports and headset and USB plugs. iPod connectivity enables customers to view their personal videos and music. Each seat offers audio and video on-demand and a 15.4-inch video screen.
In addition to the reconfiguration of the international fleet, United plans to expand Economy Plus seating to all Continental aircraft beginning in 2012, offering more extra-legroom economy seating than any airline in the world.

Delta paperless Boarding pass Tokyo-Haneda and Narita Nagoya Osaka
Delta airlines expanded paperless eBoarding pass options to all of the cities it serves in Japan including Nagoya (NGO), Osaka (KIX), Tokyo-Haneda (HND) and its Tokyo-Narita (NRT) hub.
Delta is an industry leader of eBoarding pass technology, with more international locations for paperless check-in than any U.S. airline.
Since the beginning of 2011, Delta has expanded the availability of eBoarding pass options by more than 40 percent to 69 worldwide locations as it continues to invest in customer self-service and time-saving technology.
Customers who check-in on delta.com or mobile.delta.com have the option of sending an eBoarding pass to their smartphone rather than using a paper boarding pass to access security checkpoints and board their flight. More information on how to access the free service, including a complete list of airports where paperless boarding is an option, is available at delta.com/checkin.
“Delta’s eBoarding option allows our customers to check in, obtain their boarding pass, access security and board their flight using their preferred mobile device, without spending time at a computer, airport kiosk or ticket counter,” said Vinay Dube, Delta’s senior vice president – Asia-Pacific. “It’s another way we’re addressing the needs of our increasingly mobile customers, who require innovative travel tools that provide greater convenience and enhance their experience at every step of their journey.”
The eBoarding expansion is part of Delta’s ongoing investment in technology, which includes recent upgrades to the customer booking experience on delta.com, improvements to mobile.delta.com, and the introduction of iPhone and BlackBerry applications. Delta is investing more than $2 billion in enhanced global products, services and airport facilities through 2013. Improvements include upgrading its domestic fleet, Delta Sky Club renovations, the addition of full flat-bed seats on more than 100 wide body aircraft, personal, in-seat entertainment for both BusinessElite and Economy class customers on all wide body flights, and complete new terminal facilities for international customers at its two largest global gateways – Atlanta and New York-JFK.

why are plane tickets costing more lately
Airlines have used higher oil prices to justify fare increases of up to $60 per ticket since the start of the year. But the rising cost of fuel isn't the only reason why are plane tickets costing more lately.
The improving economy, a shrinking supply of seats and industry consolidation are also to blame.
"This is probably going to be the worst year we have seen in 10 years in terms of finding cheap tickets," says Tom Parsons of BestFares.com, a website for travel deals.
Airlines have the upper hand on prices for several reasons:
• The improving economy. Business travelers are expected to take 441 million trips this year, a 3 percent increase from 2010. As a result, airlines are reserving more seats for pricey last-minute bookings. That leaves fewer cheap fares for leisure travelers, who tend to book further in advance.
Fewer seats. During the recession, airlines reduced the number of routes and planes they fly. As travel demand picks up, this shrunken supply of seats allows the industry to charge more. Planes are 82 percent full on average, compared with 70 percent full before the recession hit in late 2007.
• Consolidation. Six airlines have combined into just three over the past 14 months — Delta and Northwest, Continental and United, Midwest and Frontier — leaving bargain-hunters with fewer choices.
American Airlines raised U.S. fares by $10 per round trip Wednesday but pulled back the increase Friday after other major airlines decided not to follow suit. It would have been the seventh broad price hike this year.
It isn't just the base fare getting more expensive. Checking bags, reserving an aisle seat and other services are no longer universally free.
Another change working against leisure travelers is the budding dispute between airlines and online travel sites. The airlines want to pay the sites lower commissions for each ticket purchased. The result for fliers: Not all available flights can be found on some sites. For instance, Orbitz, Expedia and Hotwire no longer list American Airlines flights.
Some high-traffic business and leisure routes, such as New York to Los Angeles, will see large hikes, Parsons says. The cheapest fare between those cities last July was $382. This year, it's $544. Parsons notes a handful of domestic routes, such as Dallas to San Francisco, are down thanks to new competition.
International routes aren't offering any relief, either. The cheapest plane tickets from Miami to Paris cost $1,250 this week, 53 percent higher than last year, according to SmarterTravel.
Vacationers looking for the cheapest tickets should aim to fly on Tuesday and Wednesday, the least busy days for the industry, Parsons says.
Booking hotel and air packages can also yield savings. Here's an extreme recent example found online: A trip to Las Vegas included two round-trip tickets on US Airways, three nights at the Excalibur hotel and two free show tickets, all for less than the cost of many round-trip fares to Las Vegas.

JetBlue cheap shuttle to Newark for Commuters
JetBlue Airways, Boston's largest carrier, begins four daily shuttle service between Boston's Logan International Airport and Newark's Liberty International Airport, complementing its existing schedule of frequent daily flights between Boston and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. The new service will bring JetBlue's low-fare competition into a notoriously high-fare market. Since JetBlue announced plans to serve the Boston-Newark market, the lowest walk-up fare has dropped more than 75 percent.
"We're excited to dramatically lower prices on this route by bringing our industry-leading product to the market and providing the great JetBlue service and product our customers have come to expect of us," said Dave Clark, Director of Network Planning.

Commuters from Newark to Boston paid an average one-way fare of $311 during the first quarter of this year, according to U.S. Department of Transportation data compiled by JetBlue. “ticket price is higher than the average fare paid by Boston travelers on any of the six coast-to-coast routes operated by JetBlue from Logan,” the company said in a statement.

southwest airlines fly to san juan Puerto Rico
Southwest Airlines will buy AirTran for $1.4 billion, creating the most expansive network of any low-cost carrier in the U.S. and giving the feisty airline a chance to grab business travelers in the nation's busiest markets. The deal would give Southwest its first flights outside the continental United States by continuing AirTran's service to Mexico and the Caribbean.
If the merger is approved by regulators, Southwest will for the first time go head to head with Delta on its home turf at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International, the busiest passenger airport in the world. It will gain access to Reagan Washington National Airport and capture increased share at Boston Logan and New York LaGuardia.
The deal to purchase AirTran will give Southwest a footprint in virtually every large and midsize U.S. city.In addition to gains at major portals such as LaGuardia and Reagan National, Southwest would pick up AirTran's service at Charlotte and Memphis and its large operation in Atlanta.
Among the other 38 airports that AirTran serves but Southwest currently does not: Miami, Des Moines, Wichita and outside the U.S. in Cancun, Mexico; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Aruba.
"America needs this now," says Tom Parsons of BestFares.com. "With this deal you can now go just about anywhere in the country, and to the Caribbean and Mexico, on Southwest. ... All the legacy airlines will have to set their prices based on whatever Southwest does."
Some travelers were pleased with the prospect of a broader route system that gives them more appealing destinations when they redeem their loyalty program points, as well as the chance that Southwest's entry into new markets could drive down ticket prices at other airlines as well.
AirTran's planes will also become a single coach class, like Southwest, and be painted in Southwest's colors.

aa ba shuttle service LHR JFK
American Airlines and British Airways operate transatlantic shuttle service between London Heathrow and New York JFK.
The new schedule will offer hourly departures between 08:00 and 10:00 and in the evening, flights depart every half hour from 18:30 to 23:00. All of the flights will operate between New York JFK and London Heathrow with the exception of two BA A318 airplane to London City. British Airways will also continue to operate to Newark despite the fact that as a Star hub, there are few feeder services.
The joint route have 11 roundtrips per day. Seven of the flights will be operated by BA, four by AA. American is reducing its own service from five to four daily. In addition to the 11 JFK-LHR flights, there are two daily JFK-LCY and three daily EWR-LHR flights.
Also as part of the new cooperation, Iberia is adding service from Madrid to Los Angeles and from Barcelona to Miami, further enriching the oneworld offer. And American is strengthening the alliance by adding Chicago-Helsinki and JFK-Budapest in support of Finnair and Malev’s hubs.
In Chicago a similar, though reduced, schedule will also be implemented. Again, the carriers have established regular departures on the hour, creating a schedule that is easily remembered by frequent travellers, with plenty of options if plans change.
Members of ba frequent flyer schemes can now earn and redeem miles on eligible routes, and also have the ability to mix and match outbound and return fares from the carriers. For the first time BA and AA will also open their Arrivals lounges at Heathrow T3 and T5 to all Oneworld Emerald status cardholders landing on either airline’s flights.

Is it more expensive to fly in October or November
least expensive month depends on the destination. like if its more popular in the summer it might be more pricey to fly.
Usually plane tickets go up in price during the summer because children are out of school and more people then start to travel.I think it's cheaper to book airlines flights during the winter months.in november Tickets tend to be cheapest after everyone has go on vacation. September and October tend to be the off-peak season since lots of families with children will not be traveling due to kids being in school.
the best time to fly to Vancouver, Canada is Probably late October to early November , and again from December to late April. The very months when no one wants to visit because the cold weather in the northern hemisphere and it isn't Christmas when everyone wants to visit relatives.
From October to February is the main tourist season, pricing for flights to Australia is much more expensive. There are few if any sales or promotions during this season and the cheapest flights are available only if you purchase your tickets early.
January and February are the slowest time of the year (as in less travelers). The price of tickets (unless you're going to a ski destination) generally are lower. The airlines quite often offer deals during January and February to get people in the air. But it also depends on where you are going. it can be expensive if you are flying to Asia since lots of people fly home to celebrate Lunar New Year.
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes.

overnight flights LA to NY JFK not a red-eye
New York's hometown airline, and bliss, New York's hottest spa have partnered to create a unique experience for value-seekers on the low-fare airline's overnight flights from the West. Commonly known as "red-eye" flights after the state of customers upon arrival, the low-fare airline and industry-leading urban day spa, known for its fun approach to beauty, have developed Shut-Eye, an onboard experience that leaves customers feeling refreshed and ready to meet the day.
"Everyone knows the lowest fares can usually be found on overnight flights," said David Neeleman, JetBlue's Chairman and CEO. "And now, JetBlue's crewmembers are pleased to make the flight as great as the fare. Customers will now think of our overnight flights as a 'shut-eye,' not a 'red-eye.'"
JetBlue's service to LAX is operated with the airline's spacious Airbus A320, which offers roomy, all-leather seating for 150 including the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline (a). Customers looking to pamper themselves even further can upgrade to a super-spacious Even More Legroom seat. For a nominal fee each way, customers can stretch out and enjoy 38" of seat pitch.
JetBlue launched twice daily service from both JFK and Boston's Logan International Airport to LAX on June 17, 2009, and based on the successful launch of service and strong customer demand for JetBlue's premium low-fare product, is pleased to double service from New York (expanding to four daily flights) while maintaining its popular Boston route with convenient twice-daily service.
"Red eye and relaxation will no longer be an oxymoron," says Richard Dantas, President of Bliss. "Bliss Spa has designed a Shut Eye Kit(tm) just for JetBlue customers so they can unwind while they fly and arrive feeling refreshed."
Overnight flights from Los Angeles to new york JFK offer JetBlue's complimentary Shut-Eye Service, featuring a Snooze Kit, containing bliss breath freshening mint lip balm, bliss lemon+sage body butter, an eyeshade and ear plugs. The airline's night-owl customers can enjoy JetBlue's 36 channels of DIRECTV programming and a selection of FOX movies to make time fly. Still can't sleep? Visit the snack bar in the galley to stretch your legs and help yourself to JetBlue's signature (and free!) unlimited snacks and beverages. (Tasty wines from Best Cellars and cocktails are also available for purchase throughout the flight.) Before arrival, customers will be treated to hot towels and Dunkin' Donuts coffee, orange juice or bottled spring water, refreshed and ready to start the day.

Frontier unaccompanied minors extra fee
In order to insure your child is given the best possible service while traveling alone, Frontier requires strict adherence to the eligibility and reservation rules stated below.
Eligibility Requirements
Frontier Airlines designates children from ages 5 - 14 as unaccompanied minors when traveling without a parent, guardian, or companion of at least 15 years of age.
Children under five years of age are not accepted unless accompanied by an adult on any Frontier flight.
Unaccompanied minors may travel on connecting flights, except when the connecting flight is the last flight of the day.
Unaccompanied minors are not accepted on flights to/from San Jose, Costa Rica.
Children ages 15 - 17 are defined as adults and may travel without restriction at the option of the parent or guardian. Use the "Adult" option on the booking page for children ages 15 - 17 who do NOT require an escort.
Children ages 15 - 17 traveling alone will need to present one of the following: A photo ID issued by a government authority, or be accompanied by an adult with photo ID issued by a government authority.
Children ages 15 - 17 may also receive the benefits of an unaccompanied minor if the parent or guardian requests special supervision. The rules listed above for unaccompanied minors need to be followed. When making online reservations for children ages 15 - 17, use the "Child" option on the booking page. The service fee listed below will apply.
extra fee
Children traveling as unaccompanied minors pay a full adult fare.
An additional service charge of $50 per flight, applies to cover the extra handling required when an unaccompanied child travels. The charge applies for each separate flight. So a connecting flight would be $100 one way. This charge is NOT reflected in the online fare quoted. The service charge is collected at the first point of airport check-in
Example of Service Charge Calculation: A 10 year-old unaccompanied minor is traveling from Los Angeles to Denver and return. The entire service charge amount of $100 should be paid at the Los Angeles ticket counter. However, if necessary, the one-way service charge of $50 can be collected at the Los Angeles ticket counter and the return service charge of $50 can be collected at the Denver ticket counter.
A 9 year-old unaccompanied minor is traveling from Detroit to Phoenix with a stop in Denver and return. The entire service charge amount of $200 should be paid at the Detroit ticket counter. However, if necessary, the one-way service charge of $100 can be collected at the Detroit ticket counter and the return service charge of $100 can be collected at the Phoenix ticket counter.
In Flight
Once boarding announcements are made, a Frontier representative will escort the child onboard the aircraft, assist them with any carry-on luggage, as well as introduce the crew to the child. During the flight, the child will receive complimentary DIRECTV®, as well as a personal escort from the aircraft to the designated pick-up party. Snacks may be provided to the unaccompanied child. Snacks may contain nuts, soy, wheat, dairy, or egg. Snack items are packaged in a facility that processes peanuts and other nuts.
Arriving Flight
Only the person listed on the unaccompanied minor's form as the designated recipient of the child may pick up the child. The individual picking up the child must go to the airport ticket counter and advise the agent they are meeting an unaccompanied minor. A pass will need to be obtained from the agent to get through airport security. The individual picking up the child may only then proceed to the gate. A government-issued photo ID will need to be shown to the Frontier representative before Frontier will release the child into the meeting party's custody.

air canada and taca airlines codeshare agreement
air canada and taca airlines signed a codeshare agreement, which enables them to commercialize each other’s tickets under the same code, starting the 5th of May, 2011 The agreement allows increased access and seamless travel to the Canadian market for passengers of TACA as well as to Latin America for passengers of Air Canada
Ticketing and baggage connectivity on travel with both airlines
During this first phase of implementations the codeshare includes Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa and Calgary in Canada; as well as Guatemala and TACA Airlines hubs in El Salvador and San Jose as the destinations in Latin America
Codeshare expansion will be incorporated gradually in phases during 2011 and 2012, including DISTANCIA frequent flyer miles agreements, frequent flyer can earn aeroplan miles on taca flights.
Markets Served by the Agreement, Phase I
The first phase of implementation includes the following final destinations in Canada: Montreal (YUL), Vancouver (YVR), Edmonton (YEG), Ottawa (YOW) and Calgary (YYC). TACA customers can travel to destinations like Mexico (MEX), Los Angeles (LAX), Orlando (MCO), Miami (MIA), Dallas (DFW) or Toronto (YYZ) to connect via Air Canada to their final destination in Canada. Whereas customers of Air Canada can access the route network of TACA in Latin America through Mexico, Los Angeles and Miami, to El Salvador (SAL), Guatemala (GUA) and San Jose (SJO). Further implementations will gradually include other destinations in TACA’s wide route network throughout Latin America and Air Canada’s extensive network in Asia and Europe.
Passenger Benefits
The codeshare allows passengers to enjoy seamless travel to other destinations with a single ticket purchase, whether they leave from stations operated by Air Canada or by TACA Airlines. The travelers will be able to enjoy quick connections and luggage connectivity through to their final destination, even though they are flying segments operated by different airlines.
