Lufthansa german airlines grows in Düsseldorf: Resumption of Toronto service DUS to YYZ and new nonstop connections to European summer hotspots

“The resumption of our Toronto-Düsseldorf service -- together with an extension of our Miami-Düsseldorf flights -- is a clear response to the increased demand we’re seeing for services between North America and Düsseldorf,” said Jens Bischof, Vice President, the Americas for Lufthansa. The seasonal Miami-Düsseldorf connection will be extended through May 23 this year and again from October 8, 2010. Nonstop widebody services from Newark (New Jersey) and Chicago will continue to be flown throughout the year. Lufthansa is the only airline offering a three-class cabin with in-seat video service in Economy Class on routes between North America and Düsseldorf.
Lufthansa continues to expand in Düsseldorf: the airline offer new nonstop connections to Athens, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Gdansk, Poland and Naples, Italy. include non-stop flights to 58 destinations across Europe and North America.


Lufthansa will also be the only airline offering flights from Düsseldorf to Gdansk this summer. Starting March 30, Gdansk will be served by five weekly flights (Mondays-Fridays) operated by a Canadair Regional Jet 700 (CR7). Naples is an ideal starting point for vacationers headed to the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi coast or the legendary Italian resort, Capri. Lufthansa is commencing its first non-stop flights to Naples from Düsseldorf in the summer timetable. A Canadair Regional Jet 900 (CR9) will connect Düsseldorf with the Campania region twice per week, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Athens and Dubrovnik typify the variety of destinations Lufthansa is serving from Düsseldorf with its dense, non-stop route network. Athens will be served five times per week with a CR9, Dubrovnik twice-weekly with a Canadair Regional Jet 700 (CR7). Also in the Lufthansa summer schedule again are flights to Inverness, Scotland; Jersey, British Islands; Mallorca, Spain; Newquay, England; Olbia, Sardinia; Venice, Italy and Reykjavik, Iceland. Moreover, services from Düsseldorf to Nice will increase by five frequencies to daily flights.
