Lufthansa air link Newquay Cornwall to Dusseldorf

Germany's national carrier. Lufthansa offer nonstop flights to Newquay Cornwall Airport from Dusseldorf with a 737-500 airplane, a 148 seat jet for a smooth and faster flying experience. The Saturday weekly flights will start on 28th May 2011 running through to 10th September 2011. Reservations can be made by visiting www.lufthansa.com.
Newquay Cornwall Airport and the Headland Hotel have planned a series of joint marketing and press activities this summer to showcase Cornwall within the Dusseldorf catchment area with the view to attract even more inbound German visitors year on year.
Al Titterington, Newquay Cornwall Airport's Managing Director says 'Having the German national flag carrier operating to/from Newquay is a huge bonus. This is great news for Cornwall's tourism industry with many of the regions international tourists coming from Germany. This also allows Cornish residents the chance to fly directly to the heart of Germany and avoid long road trips to other Airports. The service saw extremely good passenger numbers last year with a 46% increase from 2010, which has led the airline to increase the aircraft size to meet demand for air services directly to Cornwall'.
Visitors to Düsseldorf are also perfectly located to access other German cities, including Dortmund, Cologne and Bonn.

Lufthansa´s Network Planning Manager Georg Theis says: "We're happy to connect the heart of western Germany with the beautiful landscapes of Cornwall in 2011 again. Newquay Cornwall Airport remains an important destination within our summer schedule".
