Spirit Airlines Adds New destination from Chicago O'Hare

Spirit Airlines will add daily nonstop service to five new destination from O’Hare International Airport. Spirit Airlines will begin multiple daily flights to Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth,Detroit and New York/LaGuardia on August 18, 2011 and daily service to Orlando on November 10, 2011.

Spirit Airlines has operated from Terminal 3 at O’Hare since October of 2000, offering daily nonstop service to Atlantic City, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

“We commend Spirit Airlines for substantially increasing its U.S. travel destinations from O’Hare International Airport”, said CDA Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. “This added service for the Chicago market reflects the
steady increase in air travel demand and is an important part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s vision to bolster Chicago’s leading position in the global aviation system.”

Spirit Airlines is the largest Ultra Low Cost Carrier (ULCC) in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Spirit’s all-Airbus fleet, the youngest in the Americas, flies more than 150 daily flights to over 40 destinations.

This increase of service by Spirit Airlines is also a result of the CDA’s ongoing efforts to accommodate airline growth in the Chicago market.
