The Houston Airport System announces Frontier Airlines move to Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) after serving customers for nine years from Terminal A at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Customers booked on Frontier flights to Bush Intercontinental on or after November 18, will automatically be rebooked on flights to Hobby Airport.
Hobby is roughly seven miles from Houston, as compared to Bush, which is 20 miles away, making it easier for passengers to get to and from downtown Houston and the airport. Hobby just underwent a $250 million facelift at their terminal.
Frontier Airlines is growing travel opportunities for Houston travelers with a broader range of destinations from Hobby, including three daily, non-stop flights between Houston and Denver (DIA).
"Hobby Airport offers great benefits to Frontier's guests," said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s vice president of strategy and planning. "In addition to its easy-to-use refurbished terminal, Hobby offers convenient access to downtown Houston as well as to great tourist attractions such as NASA and Galveston."
Hobby Airport serves 8 million passengers annually. The domestic airport has a strong performance record in customer satisfaction surveys and was named as America's Best Airport on a Travel + Leisure online survey by the magazine's readers.
