upgrade on us airways use united miles

US Airways is the sixth largest airline in the United States with primary hubs in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Phoenix and Las Vegas. US Airways codeshares on United to more than 130 domestic and international destinations.

If you’re a united Mileage Plus elite member, you’ll be recognized as an elite member when flying US Airways. You’ll also earn applicable bonus award miles, just as you would when flying United: •Premier Executive and 1K members earn a 100% bonus, and receive Star Gold benefits. •Premier® members earn a 25% bonus, and receive Star Silver benefits. •Elite members earn actual miles on US Airways flights, with no minimum.

Star Alliance Awards enable you to use United Miles to upgrade to business class or first class seats, on any Star Alliance airline.
Complimentary upgrades are subject to capacity controls. Full-fare (Y or B class) economy tickets may be upgraded anytime after ticketing. Other paid tickets can be upgraded up to seven days in advance.

•See united award chart to find out how many miles you'll need, depending on class of service and region of travel. The mileage amounts apply to all Star Alliance carriers, and any combination of carriers. •You can use miles to fly one way or roundtrip. •It’s easier than ever - book online when you're planning an award trip with select Star Alliance airlines, including US Airways.
